069 - In Conversation with Wehbba

Author: Grahame Farmer June 1, 2020 Duration: 41:05

Brazilian DJ and producer Wehbba’s creative aspirations seem to grow day by day and following a series of globally impactful single and EP releases on the circuit’s leading label, Drumcode, he now unveils his long-awaited first album Straight Lines and Sharp Corners on the label. This expertly configured montage of instrumental offerings not only showcase Wehbba’s refined skill set in the studio but also proposes an immersive conceptual study that echoes a tenacious dedication to his craft.

Representing some of his best and most conceptual work to date, this intellectual album is reflective of his life as 'the artist' and offers an immensely diverse array of genres, all of which have served as musical references to Wehbba across his decade-long career. This immersive conceptual project features Wehbba's own field recordings, which injects an organic quality often lacking in the techno landscape.

We chatted about his process of creating the album, field recording and more.  You can listen to the album here https://soundcloud.com/wehbba/sets/straight-lines-sharp-corners
