Season 4 Ep 18: Reconnect to Your Body with Katherine Creighton Crook

Season 4 Ep 18: Reconnect to Your Body with Katherine Creighton Crook

Author: Lisa Kuzman March 25, 2021 Duration: 39:56

Hey — how does your body feel today? Are you in any pain? Holding tension in your neck, your jaw, your back? If so, I really want you to tune into today's interview with Katherine Creighton Crook. She's a sport & remedial massage therapist / intuitive bodyworker whose mission is to get rid of all unnecessary pain in the world.

And according to Katherine, "Any pain you can get rid of is unnecessary."

Now, even though we talk a lot about emotional pain and trauma on this show, this is probably the first time we've focused on physical pain. But are they really two separate, unrelated things? Katherine had some fascinating insights to share:

  • how her view of physical pain has changed over time
  • the relationship between trauma, pain, and bodywork
  • her #1 tip for people receiving massage
  • her clinic's unique approach to massage therapy
  • building trust within and without

...and a WHOLE lot more.

"I always say when I'm working with someone on the table, I'm working with you, and I'm working with your body. And you might trust me, but your body needs to trust me as well. And you might say there's nothing going on in this area, but your body's like 'there is DEFINITELY something going on in this area!!' So sometimes I'm bridging the gap."

Katherine, I can't thank you enough for coming on the show this week! Want to learn more about what Katherine has to offer? You've got options!

There's a quiet shift happening in how we think about authority and influence, and New Wave Leadership Podcast is right at the heart of it. Host Lisa Kuzman believes traditional, top-down leadership models have run their course, proving ineffective for today's complex world. Instead, this movement champions a much broader, more inclusive vision. Each episode digs into the real, often unspoken challenges that come with stepping into a role of influence, whether you're in a corner office, a community group, or simply leading your own life. The conversations here actively work to expand our definition of who gets to be a leader, arguing passionately for the necessity of diverse identities, perspectives, and lived experiences at the helm. You'll hear frank discussions about authenticity, the personal hurdles leaders navigate behind closed doors, and practical ideas for cultivating your own unique leadership identity without conforming to outdated standards. Tuning into this podcast feels like joining a necessary dialogue-one that moves beyond theory to explore what it genuinely means to show up and make an impact on your own terms.
