Season 4 Ep 9: Trauma Sensitive Leadership Is Timeless — NOT Trendy!

Author: Lisa Kuzman February 22, 2021 Duration: 11:24

From bowl cuts and bleached tips to terrycloth pants with words on the butt, one thing you can say about trends is that they come and (thankfully) go. And hey, I'm not immune to trendy stuff — but some things should be timeless.

Why am I thinking about bad 90's fashion trends? Well, on my recent foray into the world of Clubhouse, I joined a group discussion about why trauma sensitive practice shouldn't be trendy. Since I'm gearing up for a new cohort of Ready!, my grief, loss, and trauma sensitive coach training program, that was a big HELL YES for me!

Trauma is something we all deal with... especially after the major events of 2020 and 2021. That means we can't treat it like a trend, where we pay attention for a few hot seconds and then focus on the next big thing. So let's talk about making trauma sensitive leadership a permanent fixture in your practice.

Want to talk all things trauma-sensitive leadership, or just confess your 90's fashion sins? Find me over at lisakuzman.com and book a call! I'm always down to chat.

There's a quiet shift happening in how we think about authority and influence, and New Wave Leadership Podcast is right at the heart of it. Host Lisa Kuzman believes traditional, top-down leadership models have run their course, proving ineffective for today's complex world. Instead, this movement champions a much broader, more inclusive vision. Each episode digs into the real, often unspoken challenges that come with stepping into a role of influence, whether you're in a corner office, a community group, or simply leading your own life. The conversations here actively work to expand our definition of who gets to be a leader, arguing passionately for the necessity of diverse identities, perspectives, and lived experiences at the helm. You'll hear frank discussions about authenticity, the personal hurdles leaders navigate behind closed doors, and practical ideas for cultivating your own unique leadership identity without conforming to outdated standards. Tuning into this podcast feels like joining a necessary dialogue-one that moves beyond theory to explore what it genuinely means to show up and make an impact on your own terms.
