Season 5 Ep 11: Building Your Summer Fun List

Season 5 Ep 11: Building Your Summer Fun List

Author: Lisa Kuzman June 21, 2021 Duration: 12:30

It's summer now, and that means I'm feeling footloose, fancy free, and yes — focused on fun. But you know what's a weird thing nobody really ever tells you? Having fun can be... kinda hard!

I remember the moment I realized this. Back when I was first dipping my toe into the world of coaching, I practiced some tools and techniques with a coach buddy of mine. I had just listed off a whole bunch of things I love to do: seeing movies, dinner with friends, grabbing drinks, you get the idea.

And then she stopped me in my tracks with a simple question:
"Okay... but what do you do for fun?"

My immediate reaction was: F*ck. You.
Talk about a strong reaction, eh? But she had a great point! A lot of us have no friggin' clue what we actually find FUN.

So today, let's talk about building a summer fun list. Think anything that lights you up, brings you joy, and gets you the heck away from your desk for a while.

I would love to have you share your summer fun snapshots on my trauma sensitive leadership group! Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/764082764458292/

There's a quiet shift happening in how we think about authority and influence, and New Wave Leadership Podcast is right at the heart of it. Host Lisa Kuzman believes traditional, top-down leadership models have run their course, proving ineffective for today's complex world. Instead, this movement champions a much broader, more inclusive vision. Each episode digs into the real, often unspoken challenges that come with stepping into a role of influence, whether you're in a corner office, a community group, or simply leading your own life. The conversations here actively work to expand our definition of who gets to be a leader, arguing passionately for the necessity of diverse identities, perspectives, and lived experiences at the helm. You'll hear frank discussions about authenticity, the personal hurdles leaders navigate behind closed doors, and practical ideas for cultivating your own unique leadership identity without conforming to outdated standards. Tuning into this podcast feels like joining a necessary dialogue-one that moves beyond theory to explore what it genuinely means to show up and make an impact on your own terms.
