Season 5 Ep 9: Podcasting, Running, and Doing Hard Things

Season 5 Ep 9: Podcasting, Running, and Doing Hard Things

Author: Lisa Kuzman June 14, 2021 Duration: 13:49

One thing you might not know about me is that I've run so many half marathons that I've lost count of them all. I know it's close to a dozen — that's enough to call myself a seasoned half-marathon runner, right?

My most recent run was over the weekend, and I had to do things a little differently than I have in the past. Part of that, yes, was because of the 3-year gap between the last half marathon and this one, but there was a more to it than that. This time around, I had learned a few lessons in my business that were surprisingly applicable to those thirteen-point-two miles.

Whether we're talking about launching a podcast, facilitating a course, or running a race, it's important to enjoy the process AND get a result that makes you happy. So today, let's talk about how to do tough things justice while honoring yourself along the way.

What are some of the hard things that you've overcome lately? I want to hear all about them! You can join the conversation on my trauma sensitive leadership group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/764082764458292/

There's a quiet shift happening in how we think about authority and influence, and New Wave Leadership Podcast is right at the heart of it. Host Lisa Kuzman believes traditional, top-down leadership models have run their course, proving ineffective for today's complex world. Instead, this movement champions a much broader, more inclusive vision. Each episode digs into the real, often unspoken challenges that come with stepping into a role of influence, whether you're in a corner office, a community group, or simply leading your own life. The conversations here actively work to expand our definition of who gets to be a leader, arguing passionately for the necessity of diverse identities, perspectives, and lived experiences at the helm. You'll hear frank discussions about authenticity, the personal hurdles leaders navigate behind closed doors, and practical ideas for cultivating your own unique leadership identity without conforming to outdated standards. Tuning into this podcast feels like joining a necessary dialogue-one that moves beyond theory to explore what it genuinely means to show up and make an impact on your own terms.
