Season 6 Ep 11: Making the Case for Taking Your Time

Season 6 Ep 11: Making the Case for Taking Your Time

Author: Lisa Kuzman October 18, 2021 Duration: 15:56

This week, I want to tell you about a beautiful moment I had at the top of a mountain waterfall. But first — let's rewind to where I was at ten years ago.

I knew I was terribly misaligned.

I knew it was time to actively put myself on a trajectory that would let me live how I wanted to live, feel how I wanted to feel, and be how I wanted to be.

I knew that if I wanted to get where I am now, I'd need to take responsibility, and manage my own impatience.

When I made that decision, did I think it would take me ten years to get where I am? NOPE.

But as I said to my support coach, Brittany, at the top of that waterfall: "I'm here."

And I want you to get here, too. Whatever your "here" is.

It won't happen overnight, but if you can allow the journey to unfold, and accept support from the people around you? You got this.

I'm so happy that you're here with me. Are you at a point in your personal development journey where you need a pep talk? I got you! Book a call with me and let's jam: https://lisakuzman.com/

There's a quiet shift happening in how we think about authority and influence, and New Wave Leadership Podcast is right at the heart of it. Host Lisa Kuzman believes traditional, top-down leadership models have run their course, proving ineffective for today's complex world. Instead, this movement champions a much broader, more inclusive vision. Each episode digs into the real, often unspoken challenges that come with stepping into a role of influence, whether you're in a corner office, a community group, or simply leading your own life. The conversations here actively work to expand our definition of who gets to be a leader, arguing passionately for the necessity of diverse identities, perspectives, and lived experiences at the helm. You'll hear frank discussions about authenticity, the personal hurdles leaders navigate behind closed doors, and practical ideas for cultivating your own unique leadership identity without conforming to outdated standards. Tuning into this podcast feels like joining a necessary dialogue-one that moves beyond theory to explore what it genuinely means to show up and make an impact on your own terms.
