There’s a particular magic in hearing a story told aloud, a tradition that connects us across generations and geography. Ohh Folk!!, hosted by Shilpa DasGupta, is built on that very magic. Each episode is a journey into the rich and often overlooked corners of global folklore, reviving rare tales that might otherwise fade from memory. This isn't just a collection of stories you've heard before; it's an excavation of narrative treasures from specific nations and indigenous tribes, shared with the warmth and cadence of oral storytelling. As you listen, you’ll be transported by the tales themselves and then offered a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes into the cultures from which they sprang. A core hope for this podcast is to pass these timeless pieces on to new, young listeners, ensuring the tradition continues vibrantly. Tuning in feels like being part of a quiet, steadfast effort to keep these voices alive, one story at a time. The result is a deeply engaging experience that satisfies a curiosity for both narrative and cultural heritage, making Ohh Folk!! a unique listen for anyone drawn to the threads that weave our world’s societies together.
