Ep. 166: Advanced Time Management and Deep Focus

Ep. 166: Advanced Time Management and Deep Focus

Author: Kristin Morrison | Pet Business Coach | Pet Sitting, Dog Walking and Dog Training Business Tips October 14, 2025 Duration: 0:00

This episode dives into a game-changing productivity tool: The Eisenhower Matrix (also known as the Urgent-Important Matrix).

This four-quadrant framework challenges the common mistake business owners make of confusing mere urgency with true importance.

You’ll hear me break down the four quadrants: Do, Schedule, Delegate, and Delete – and illustrate the importance of protecting your time by correctly classifying tasks.

To help you dedicate proper time to these high-value activities, I introduce the concept of the Deep Work Block. This is a scheduled, distraction-free time slot—typically 2-3 hours—dedicated only to demanding tasks that move your business forward.

You’ll also learn powerful techniques for implementing your own Deep Work Block, including the “Creation Before Consumption” Rule and creating a Sensory Deprivation Chamber.

To fully understand the power of this matrix and follow along with the examples, be sure to visit the show notes page where you’ll find the complete Eisenhower Matrix graphic, at: prosperouspetbusiness.com/podcast166.
