Oddette Staple-Brown is the owner and creative behind the brand Oh D’Luxe Candle Company, an eco-friendly, non-toxic, and sustainable candle and home fragrance company located in Bridgeport Connecticut. Oddette holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a graduate degree in Human Resource Management. She has a background in accounting, payroll, and human resources, but her true passion is creating. Today, Oh D’Luxe Candles can be found on the shelves of over 18 retail stores across the U.S., including REI. The brand has been featured in various media outlets including CNBC Prime, WTNH News, Redfin Blog, The Connecticut Examiner, Connecticut Magazine, and Tabitha Brown’s Very Good Monday. She is here to share her story of becoming a small business owner, her motivation/drive, tips that are key despite challenges and steps you too can take.
