As the founder of the Southwest and Niger Delta Forest Project, she has dedicated her life to protecting endangered species—like the critically endangered Niger Delta red colobus monkey—while empowering local communities to become stewards of their environment.

Rachel’s work has earned her global recognition, including the Whitley Award ("Green Oscar") and the National Geographic Buffett Award for Conservation Leadership in Africa.
