Last week, I started telling you the story of eight-year-old Raylee Browning, who died in the home of her father, his girlfriend, and the woman’s sister after years of unthinkable abuse. Raylee’s death was infuriatingly preventable if only CPS and the family court judge hadn’t ignored countless abuse complaints from Raylee’s mom and school staff.

In this episode, we’ll go over the results of Raylee’s autopsy and the shocking number of medications she was prescribed. I’ll talk about how and why Marty Browning Jr., Julie Titchenell, and Sherie Titchenell put just Raylee, one of four kids in the home, through years of abuse and neglect. I’ll go through the shocking statements one of Julie’s children made to a counselor, cementing the three adults’ criminal charges. Finally, I’ll also discuss proposed legislation that would protect many homeschooled kids from abuse and why, almost four years after its proposal, it still hasn’t been passed by the West Virginia State Senate.

This is part two of the harrowing story of Raylee Browning.

Suffer the Little Children centers on the stories of children lost to abuse and murder, aiming to restore their narratives and dignity beyond the headlines. This podcast meticulously details individual cases, often weaving in the perspectives of surviving family members and advocates to create a fuller, more human picture of each tragedy. The host approaches these difficult subjects with a commitment to factual clarity and a deep sense of respect, ensuring the victims are remembered as people, not just statistics. Listeners will hear detailed examinations of systemic failures, legal proceedings, and the long-term impact on communities, framed within broader discussions about child welfare and protection. It is a challenging but necessary listen, designed to foster awareness and understanding rather than sensationalism. By dedicating each episode to a specific child's story, the Suffer the Little Children podcast creates a space for remembrance and reflection that is both sobering and vital. The content naturally intersects with societal, cultural, and scientific aspects of how such crimes are perceived and addressed.
