Tonight on the show, have you heard??? The third??? The latest version??We had three musicians play the same song, "Sur," on three different instruments. Emiliano Messiez, amazing pianist and humanitarian, spent most of the show with us discussing music and things of that nature. He played live for us. Sergio Reyes, the amazing violinist sent us a recording but also managed to call in and chat for a while although he had tremendous trouble with his seat belt.Javier Sanchez, el maestro del maestros, sent us a beautiful recording of him playing bandoneon as well. What an amazing group of people. BUT, no one, told me how to ask her questions better for our '5 Questions' segment than Tova Moreno. And she told me to ask her some great questions.Long long long haired timed dancer and friend. She has been a huge influence of the culture of tango in the US and it was great to chat and catch UP with her. Thank you all for listening, calling and being a part of this while we are all apart. We will continue to bring you great shows to keep us connected socially as we learn and talk about Tango as it has so many layers. Tango Cafe takeout is a donation based show. In Tango Uncorked, host Hoopengardner sits down with the vibrant, unexpected characters who live and breathe Argentine Tango. This isn't a tutorial on steps, but a series of conversations that uncovers the unique rhythm of a life intertwined with the dance. You'll hear from the expected-professional dancers and revered teachers-but the real magic happens when the spotlight shifts. The podcast features the donut maker who finds poetry in the late-night milonga, the engineer who analyzes the geometry of an embrace, and the countless quietly obsessed individuals for whom tango is less a hobby and more a vital language. Each episode is an intimate portrait, exploring how this passionate art form reshapes identities, forges communities, and spills over into every corner of a person's world. Through these personal stories, Tango Uncorked reveals the rich, human tapestry behind the music and movement, offering listeners a front-row seat to the laughter, frustration, philosophy, and sheer joy that fuels this global culture. It's a celebration of the diverse voices that, together, create the soul of the tango world.
