Jon Arnold: Alianza Crux Points Service Providers Toward Intelligent Communications, Podcast

“The value is in the conversation, not the call.”

In this Technology Reseller News podcast recorded at Alianza Navigate 2026, independent analyst Jon Arnold of J Arnold & Associates discusses the launch of Alianza Crux, the event’s broader AI message and what the platform could mean for service providers trying to move beyond traditional telecom.

Arnold describes analysts as the people who step back from individual products and look at the larger market: what is changing, why it matters and where the business opportunity may be heading.

At Navigate, much of that discussion centered on Crux, Alianza’s new platform and strategy for helping service providers bridge the gap between legacy voice services and intelligent communications.

Arnold says the challenge is significant because many carriers remain closely tied to PSTN-era technologies and business models while their customers are increasingly looking for AI-enabled, integrated communications.

“The value is in the conversation, not the call,” Arnold says.

Crux is designed to help service providers move in that direction by orchestrating new communications capabilities and bringing in what Alianza calls experience providers—voice AI and conversational AI companies building applications that carriers may not want to integrate themselves.

That could allow service providers to offer more turnkey AI-powered services without having to build, test and manage every application independently.

Arnold also sees trust as a central part of the strategy.

For carriers, adopting AI and new communications models means trusting that the underlying platform can help them modernize without forcing them to abandon the customer relationships and infrastructure they already have.

The opportunity, Arnold says, is not simply technological. Providers also need to find new revenue streams.

“If you stay status quo, it’s not going to end well,” he says.

Arnold says Navigate ultimately presented a model for migration: helping traditional communications providers move toward AI-enabled services while maintaining the reliability, identity and trust that have always been central to telecom.
