The Natural Heart Doctor Show
In this conversation, Ari Whitten and I go straight to the cellular level to answer a question most of cardiology never asks: where does your energy actually come from, and what happens to your heart when it runs low? Ari walks through the work of Dr. Robert Naviaux and the ‘cell danger response,’ the idea that your mitochondria are constantly reading the environment and deciding whether to make energy or switch into defense mode. Stressors like toxins, junk food, poor sleep, and chronic psychological stress push them toward defense, and that shift shows up as fatigue, oxidative stress, and inflammation, the same drivers I see underneath so much heart disease.
From there, we get practical. Ari breaks down why how you breathe matters as much as how much you move, how a simple breath-hold test reflects your body's oxygen delivery, and why 20 to 30 minutes of daily movement may be one of the most powerful things you can do for your heart. It all comes back to what I teach every day: Eat Well, Live Well, Think Well. Give your cells what they were designed for, and your energy and your heart tend to follow.
