Russian language speaking is made easy with mini-stories in my TPRS Effortless Russian Podcast! Welcome! Добро пожаловать!

My name is Daria Molchanova, I am a Russian professor and certified Russian language teacher. You might know me from my Slow Russian Podcast and the Real Russian Club YouTube channel.

I love using TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) for teaching Russian for several reasons:

1) TPRS is an interactive and engaging teaching method that often involves storytelling and real-life situations, making the learning process more enjoyable for everyone.

2) It places a strong emphasis on developing communication skills. It helps students learn to communicate in Russian by using the language in context, which can be motivating and practical.

3) TPRS reduces language learning anxiety by providing a comfortable and supportive environment in which students can practice their Russian language skills without fear of making mistakes.

How to use the lessons from this podcast?

Each episode consists of a small text starting at level A0 and getting more and more difficult as we go.

Read the text and English translation if you need to.

Listen to my questions and ANSWER OUT LOUD. Don't be surprised if the questions seem too simple. That's the whole point – to make you speak Russian automatically, without thinking!

Check out the show notes regularly for little grammar tips and links.

Daria Molchanova from the Real Russian Club hosts TPRS Russian-Effortless Russian, a podcast built around a specific and engaging language acquisition technique. The core idea is that you absorb grammar and build vocabulary not through memorization, but by following compelling, often humorous, narratives. Each episode presents a story in Russian, followed by simple questions designed to check your comprehension and solidify the language structures in your mind. This method, known as Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling, aims to make the learning process feel more like an enjoyable activity than a formal study session. The weekly rhythm of the show provides consistent, manageable exposure to the language. By regularly listening to this podcast, you train your ear to the sounds and patterns of Russian in a context that makes sense, allowing the language to sink in more deeply. Daria’s approach is straightforward and focused on practical understanding, creating a supportive audio space for anyone looking to build a genuine feel for how Russian works. The emphasis is always on comprehension and gradual, natural progress, turning what can be a daunting challenge into a series of small, achievable victories. New episodes arrive every Monday to integrate into your routine.
