This program features songs about different forms of entertainment. Starting with Scottish singer Donovan and his quirky Hurdy Gurdy Man and followed up by Billy Joel’s somewhat cynical portrayal of life as a singer with The Entertainer. Other forms of entertainment are presented with Liza Minnelli’s Cabaret from the film of the same name, Simon and Garfunkel’s reworking of the old English folk song Scarborough Fair and Freddie Mercury’s swan song The Show Must Go On. Rick Nelson depicts a sombre note into Garden Party while our beloved Seekers sing their huge hit The Carnival Is Over. And of course, the program finishes on a party with Leslie Gore’s It’s My Party.
