Tamil Cholai Online

Tamil Cholai Online is one of the longest-running Tamil community broadcasters on the internet: founded by Kabilan Krishnasamy in 1996, it has kept a 24-hour schedule going for well over 25 years. Its declared mission is nothing small - a platform for Tamil culture, diaspora and traditions through pop-culture, arts, music and entertainment, strengthening Tamil-speaking identity within a multicultural society.

The program grid runs largely by decade: dedicated hours for 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s hits, blocks of 2000-2015 favourites and the latest releases, devotional songs in the early morning and comedy capsules in the afternoon. Kollywood fans get interview clips alongside film songs, and everything is voiced by volunteer RJs - some with decades of radio experience, including a presenter who has been a pillar of the Perth radio sector since 1999.

Streamed free around the clock, Tamil Cholai reaches Tamil listeners across Australia and the wider diaspora - a warm, Tamil-language web radio listen online for music that spans six decades.
