Rox FM

Rox FM is the community radio station of Roxby Downs, the South Australian outback town built to service the giant Olympic Dam mine. On 105.5 FM it airs non-stop, twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year, with a slogan that doubles as a mission statement: local, live and loving it.

The music mix is deliberately broad to suit a mining town's whole population - rock to pop, latest hits, country and jazz, with children's programming and community shows woven through. Beyond the daily schedule, the station runs community storytelling projects such as the Rox Resiliency Project, keeping its role bigger than a jukebox.

English-language and free to stream online, Rox FM keeps the far-north mining community within earshot of itself - Roxby Downs radio to listen live from the outback to anywhere in the world, for mine workers on shift, families at home and former residents who still call the town theirs.
