Fox 101.9 - branded on air as 101.9 The Fox - is the Hit Network's Melbourne flagship, transmitting on 101.9 MHz as Southern Cross Austereo's hit-music voice for the city. It shares its licence family with rock sister Triple M Melbourne, splitting one market between two audiences.

The programming is Melbourne's commercial top 40 at full strength: Carrie & Tommy in drive, big-money competitions that have become the station's signature, entertainment news and the current chart in constant rotation. For decades the Fox brand has been the city's shortcut for pop radio - a dial position generations of Melbourne grew up with.

English-language and free to stream online, the station keeps the city's hit music within reach - from the Yarra to anywhere in the world, for commuters, students and anyone who wants the chart without the search. The Fox went to air at 5pm on 1 August 1980 with the slogan Catch the Fox, and Melbourne has been catching it ever since.
