SYN FM

SYN FM - 3SYN on the licence, Student Youth Network in full - is Melbourne's youth community station, on 90.7 FM and DAB+ since 28 January 2003. Every programme is made by volunteers aged 12 to 25, broadcasting from studios on the campus of RMIT University in the city centre.

The schedule refreshes roughly every 12 weeks as new crews of young presenters come through, so the station reinvents itself faster than any commercial format could: Fresh Sounds and The Hoist for new music, The Sports Desk and Panorama for talk, and the long-running, cheeky Naughty Rude Show among them.

More than a thousand volunteers pass through each year, making SYN one of Australia's largest youth media projects, and its alumni have spread across the country's media industry. Free to stream online, SYN makes an easy youth web radio listen - radio by and for young Melbourne, loud, raw and always new.
