Radio Belarus

Radio Belarus - Радыё «Беларусь» - is the country's official international broadcaster, operated by the Belarusian Television and Radio Company and on air since 11 May 1962. What began as a Belarusian-language shortwave service grew into a multilingual one, adding German, Russian, English, Polish, French, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic over the decades.

Shortwave and mediumwave transmitters fell silent in 2016, but the mission continues online and on border-region FM transmitters. Programming follows the classic international-broadcasting formula: news and analytical shows, interviews with politicians, scientists and artists, and features on Belarusian history, culture and everyday family life, with Belarusian folk, classical and modern music carrying the sound.

The web feed runs on national infrastructure, and the broadcaster's own site carries the live player and schedules. For anyone tracing the voice of Belarus beyond its borders, it remains free online radio - a live stream, six decades on.
