Rádio Laje FM

Rádio Laje FM broadcasts on 87.9 MHz from São José da Laje, in the Zona da Mata of Alagoas, describing itself as one of the region's most important communication companies - in short, entertainment and information.

The programming mixes pop music, news and talk in the community-radio tradition, and the station doubles as the town's public square: its review wall carries requests to the mayor from residents without water, greetings and calls to action. Listeners tune in from Brasília, Guarulhos and Recife - the Lajense diaspora keeps the dial close wherever it settles, sending greetings home between the songs.

The FM signal and the around-the-clock stream make the station a genuine local institution, from Avenida Valdemar Pontes in the centre of town to the whole country. Free web radio to listen online, from the Alagoas Zona da Mata to anywhere.
