2GB - 873 AM

2GB on 873 AM is the dominant talk station of Sydney, and has led the radio ratings of the city for years. On air since 1926 - the call letters stand for Giordano Bruno, a heritage of the theosophical society that founded the station, an origin few listeners suspect - it is owned by Nine and built around big presenter personalities: news at the top of the hour, then talkback, opinion and interviews from breakfast through the evening, with sport and gardening shows on the weekends.

The station sets the political conversation of Sydney - premiers and prime ministers come to its microphones because its audience votes, calls in and talks about what it heard the next morning. Beyond the AM dial, 2GB streams live online and through its app, so the talk of Sydney follows its listeners wherever they go, from the northern beaches to anywhere in the world.
