Triple J Unearthed

Triple J Unearthed is the digital station of the triple j Unearthed platform, and its rule is strict: one hundred percent unsigned and independent Australian music. Artists upload their tracks to the platform, and the best of them end up on this stream - and sometimes on triple j itself. It is the most direct pipeline from a bedroom recording to national radio that Australian music has ever had.

The platform began in 2006 as a website where unsigned bands could upload tracks; the digital station followed in 2011. The list of careers that started on Unearthed is remarkable - Flume, Missy Higgins, Grinspoon and Gang of Youths among them - which makes listening a form of discovery: the next big Australian act is always somewhere in the playlist. The station broadcasts on DAB+ and streams live online, open to anyone who wants tomorrow's Australian music today.
