The boys swap some stories about high school hazing and the ridiculous things students have been put through over the years. Meteorologist Patrick Osborn from WABI 5 in Maine also gave viewers something to talk about when he completely lost it during Sunday morning’s broadcast. An off-screen distraction apparently caught him at just the right moment, and despite his best efforts to keep things professional, he could not hold it together.
A baker is also trying to convince people that making a loaf of sourdough bread isn't nearly as time-consuming as it sounds. Kate Freebairn says you're really only working with the dough for a few minutes at a time, even though the entire process takes roughly three days. So technically, she's not wrong, but I'm pretty sure most people hear "three days" and immediately decide they're buying bread at the grocery store.
Police in Georgia recently turned to Facebook to identify a man who found $30 on the ground inside a Walmart and apparently decided that returning it wasn't his first priority. Authorities referred to him as a "suspect," which sounds pretty serious for 30 bucks. The man eventually returned the money, and the person who lost it decided not to press charges.
Meanwhile, a popular New Jersey beach was forced to close the water after dozens of syringes washed up along the shoreline. The beach itself remained open, but lifeguards strongly encouraged people to stay out of the water. That's probably one of those announcements that makes you rethink your entire beach day.
And finally, freshmen at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, are getting a very awkward welcome to high school. On the first day of classes, seniors line the parking lot and make incoming freshmen give their mom, dad or grandparent a goodbye kiss before entering the building. Somehow, the parents seem to absolutely love it, while I imagine the freshmen are already wondering if transferring schools is an option.
