In this episode, we dive into a real and honest conversation about our relationships with our parents. We share our personal experiences—the good moments, the challenges, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way. This is a touchy subject, but we approach it with respect, understanding, and openness.

We talk about the mistakes we’ve made, how we’ve contributed to losing our parents’ trust at times, and what it looks like to take accountability and grow from those experiences. This conversation is all about recognizing that while relationships can be complicated, there is always room for growth, healing, and strengthening those bonds.

Because there was so much to unpack, this is Part 1 of the conversation.

We also begin to open the door to an important topic as we head into April, Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. Nic, GSMYC's Marketing & Communications Coordinator, shares insight to help raise awareness and encourage meaningful conversations around this issue. DFPS - Social Media Toolkit: Child Abuse Prevention

This episode is about honesty, reflection, and taking steps toward better understanding ourselves and our relationships.

There's a particular kind of honesty that comes through when someone your own age is talking, a feeling that they just might get it. The Teen Life Soundtrack Podcast is built on that connection, offering a space where the complexities of growing up aren't simplified or sugarcoated. Created by TLS, this series turns the microphone over to real voices from Hays County and the GSMYC-FAYS community, weaving together personal narratives about navigating school, relationships, identity, and the constant pressure to figure everything out. While mental well-being is a central thread, conversations naturally flow into all aspects of health and fitness-not just physical routines, but how we care for our minds and spirits through life's ups and downs. Each episode feels like a candid conversation with a friend, where challenges are discussed without judgment and victories, big or small, are celebrated. Tuning into this podcast means hearing stories that often go unspoken, set to the authentic soundtrack of teenage life itself. It’s a reminder that you’re not alone in what you’re feeling, and that sharing your own story can be a powerful first step.
