TRFM 99.5 FM

Gippsland's hit station TRFM 99.5 has a longer pedigree than its young sound suggests. It began in 1930 as 3TR - Trafalgar Radio - and moved through studios in Trafalgar, Sale and Traralgon before switching to FM at midday on 26 April 2002, taking the trusted 3TR brand with it and handing its old 1242 AM frequency to sister station Gold.

Now known simply as TRFM, the Ace Radio station transmits contemporary hit radio from Mount Tassie on 99.5 MHz, with a Mount Taylor repeater on 99.9 covering Bairnsdale and East Gippsland. The schedule blends locally produced shows with syndicated network content, and the Traralgon studios are shared with Gold 1242, the classic hits sibling on the same licence.

English-language and aimed squarely at today's charts, TRFM also streams free online - a simple way for Gippsland locals and former locals alike to keep hit music radio playing, wherever they listen from.
