About ABC Riverina
ABC Riverina - 2CO at birth - began on 16 December 1931 from Albury, its AM mast standing on the outskirts of Corowa and its signal sweeping both sides of the Murray. In 1987 the operation split: the Albury side moved to Wodonga, while 2CO settled in Wagga Wagga to serve the Riverina.
Today the station covers the grain and irrigation belt - Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Leeton and Hay plus the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area - on 675 AM and a set of FM frequencies including 102.7 for Wagga and 100.5 for Griffith.
The format is talk-led local radio: news, rural reporting and country-hour conversation for a region that feeds much of the nation, where flood and mouse-plague years make the bulletins historic. Free to stream online, it makes an easy local news web radio listen - ninety-plus years of Riverina broadcasting, from the Murrumbidgee to anywhere in the world.
