Shabakat Nur

Shabakat Nur - the name means Network of Light - is a 24/7 Islamic web radio devoted to devotional sound. Its three pillars are latmiyas (lamentation recitations), mawalid (praise poetry for the Prophet and his family) and Quran recitations, with the station promising exclusive latmiyas, live mawalid and daily Quran in the rotation.

Running since 2005, the project wraps the stream in genuine listener tools: a broadcast schedule, lyrics for the recitations, downloadable ringtones, learning resources, a newsletter and a prayer-times widget. The interface reads in English, Arabic and Persian, mirroring a audience that stretches beyond the station's Bahraini roots.

Built on the Azuracast platform and operating as a free online station, Shabakat Nur opens in any browser player or radio app that accepts an MP3 stream. For listeners seeking continuous devotional audio rather than talk, it is web radio with a single, undistracted purpose - light, around the clock, online.
