About Ràdio Valíra

Radio Valira is the dean of Andorran FM radio: it began broadcasting on 2 January 1986 as the first FM station in the principality, and in 2026 it marked 40 years on air with an interactive exhibition in Ordino. The name comes from the Valira, the river that runs through the country. Its arrival filled the gap left by the closure of the historic Radio Andorra and Sud Radio.

The format is generalist, in Catalan: local news, current music, talk panels and podcasts, all from an Andorran point of view. In its early years it made history through a partnership with Luis del Olmo's legendary Spanish programme Protagonistas, and it has remained a fixture of life in the valleys ever since.

The station broadcasts on 93.3 FM and streams from radiovalira.ad, where the podcasts keep the best moments available on demand. Four decades on, it remains what it was at the start - the radio of Andorra, in Andorra's language.
