ABC Sport

ABC Sport is the national sports channel of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Its roots go back to Grandstand, the legendary ABC sports program whose cricket commentary has been part of the Australian summer for generations, and the channel carries that tradition on: ball-by-ball cricket in the season, live AFL and NRL on the weekends, and scores and analysis through the week.

What sets it apart is the commentary culture: ABC callers talk to the whole country at once, from the Test matches to the footy finals, in the descriptive style that radio sport demands. The channel also gives airtime to sports the commercial networks pass over, from womens leagues to Paralympic competition. The channel broadcasts on digital radio and online, and the live stream makes it the companion of Australian fans everywhere - including the large diaspora that follows the national teams from abroad.
