4BH 1116 AM

4BH is one of the oldest radio stations in Brisbane - on air since 1932 - its DJ Bill Gates gave the young Bee Gees their first airplay back in 1963 - and today it is heard on 1116 AM, after moving from its longtime 882 home in 2022. The format serves the audience that grew up with the station: the greatest hits of the past decades, easy listening and familiar classic songs from the 50s to the 80s, with talk and competitions woven in.

Brisbane has watched its radio brands come and go, and 4BH is the survivor: a station for the over-50s that plays the music of their lives rather than the charts. Owned by the Nine radio family and part of its national talk network, it streams live online, so the familiar songs of 4BH follow its listeners anywhere - from the bayside suburbs to the retirement coasts of Queensland.
