BBM 98.7 FM

BBM 98.7 FM - Bumma Bippera Media - is the first and only Indigenous community radio service in Cairns, Gimuy, in far north Queensland. The signal reaches from Gordonvale in the south to Port Douglas and Mossman in the north, west to Kuranda, Atherton and Mareeba, and east to Yarrabah, serving one of the largest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia.

The flagship is National TalkBlack with Trevor Tim, carried across the country via the National Indigenous Radio Service, and the local grid includes the Brekky Show with Bala Matty, the Dial A Hit show with Hip Hop Sam, the Torres Strait Hour and Blak Law. Indigenous music sits beside community talk all day, and the events of the station bring the community together in person too. BBM streams live online, so the voice of the far north reaches the whole country.
