“Why didn’t that reporter write about us?”

Now she helps rural brands and nonprofits ditch tired press releases and get the coverage they deserve.

Julie is Chief Strategist and Founder at Rural QueenB Media, a Rural America Business Amplifer. She turns 20 years of newsroom relationships into strategic wins for expansion stage companies, female founders, nonprofits, and global companies with small town impact. Her advantage: she knows what reporters want before they ask and uses that insider knowledge to elevate rural brands to national prominence.

Her communications strategy and growth marketing media work includes companies like Ballou Family Apothecary, Weidmann Electrical Technology, Roof Maxx, Vermont Nut Free Chocolates, and SunCommon, reflects Julie’s commitment to business as a force for good.

So does her service on Boards of Directors/Trustees for the Vermont Futures Project, Discover St. Johnsbury Chamber of Commerce, and previously Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, Habitat for Humanity, and as the President of Burlington Sunrise Rotary and Spokesperson for St. Jude Dream Home and Hospice of Acadiana. Julie recently hosted the keynote fireside chat during the Women’s Economic Opportunity Conference, organized by Senator Peter Welch's office, in Vermont.

Julie started the year presenting as the Media expert at a national conference in New Orleans for Roof Maxx. That led to a growth market in executive leadership and public speaking trainings for national organizations like MIE in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and One Justice in San Francisco, California. In addition, she is beginning a new executive training cohort, with a major utility in New England, in December.

Julie loves living the Vermont life, back in her hometown of St. Johnsbury, in her multi-generational home with her 10-year-old son, 81-year-old Mom, and their dog Gumbo!

Dorien Morin-van Dam knows what it's like to build a content engine without a massive budget or staff. In Strategy Talks: Content Strategy for Small Teams, she brings that practical, hands-on perspective to every conversation. This isn't about abstract theory; it's a direct line to operators who are in the trenches, sharing the specific, repeatable plays they use to turn thoughtful content into genuine business pipeline. Designed for founders, small teams, agencies, and solo consultants, each half-hour episode is tightly focused. You'll find discussions rooted in one of three critical areas: the fundamentals of content strategy and planning, the nuts and bolts of distribution and SEO, or the practical application of AI for content operations. The goal is always clarity-first, by defining a common problem many face, and then by unpacking a tangible solution. Listening to this podcast feels like having a seasoned strategist in your corner, cutting through the noise to deliver actionable insights you can apply almost immediately. If you're responsible for content but short on resources, these conversations provide the structured thinking and tactical advice to make your efforts more effective and less chaotic.
