About Rocket Range Radio
Rocket Range Radio is a community station broadcasting on 107.3 FM from Woomera, the outback South Australian town created in the late 1940s around the Anglo-Australian rocket testing range. Behind the callsign 5RRR stands Woomera Access Radio Inc., a small incorporated association that keeps a local voice alive in one of Australia's most remote settlements.
The station's identity is inseparable from its audience. As the home of Armed Forces Radio Australia, it curates an eclectic mix of music, nostalgia and variety programming with the Defence community in mind - serving and former personnel and their families, from the range workers of Woomera to veterans right across the country.
A small FM transmitter covers the village itself, but the internet stream carries the signal far beyond the desert. For anyone with a link to Australia's Defence community - or simply a taste for friendly, easy-going community radio - Rocket Range Radio is a free web radio to listen online, any hour of the day.
