WOWFM

WOWfm - 100.5 on the FM dial - is the volunteer-operated, not-for-profit community station of Adelaide's western suburbs, run from seaside Semaphore and broadcasting around the clock. Its postal address is a PO box near the jetty; its heartbeat is the beachside coast west of Port Adelaide.

A full programme guide maps the week, with volunteer presenters each bringing their own genres and community interests, and the station's structure is proudly old-school community: a board, a licence, awards, memberships, sponsorship and donations keeping the transmitter warm.

Community life spills into the calendar too - fundraisers at The Odeon, Christmas lunches, a newsletter and local events - so the station doubles as a meeting point for the west. English-language and free to stream online, WOWfm makes an easy community web radio listen - the sound of Semaphore and Adelaide's west, for locals and listeners everywhere.
