Northwest 98.9 FM

Northwest 98.9 FM is the community station of the north-west suburbs of Melbourne, broadcasting from Hadfield under the call sign 3NOW, on a license first granted in 1993. In August 2026 the station relaunched under a new name: Nest Radio - a reference to its geographic heart, North and West, and to the idea of the nest as a place of community and belonging. The presenters and programs stayed right where they were.

The relaunch was done the community way: an open day at the studios, a BBQ, local artists broadcasting live from the green room, and listeners invited behind the microphone to record the new station IDs themselves. The music is eclectic and locally made, true to the community radio tradition. The station broadcasts on 98.9 FM across the north-west and streams live online.
